Alito's first product candidate is a unique implantable, artificial lung device for ambulatory treatment of critical respiratory disorders including emphysema and other forms of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and other lung diseases. In conjuncture, we are developing products which are biohybrid systems that can be implanted in the body for longer durations and treat a broader patient population. Alito Scientific's ultimate product candidate is an implantable stem cell based biohybrid system which generates a fully functioning lung.

Our patented, novel technologies were founded on a platform of licensed patented technologies created by the world's leading researchers in the field of regenerative medicine and the institutions of Harvard, Mass General Hospital, and the Charles Stark Draper Laboratory. These technologies are based on the breakthroughs of our Chief Scientist, Dr. Joseph Vacanti, Co-Director of the Center for Regenerative Medicine at MGH. These technologies unite the fields of cell and stem cell biology with theories and applications of regenerative medicine, and highly sophisticated medical device engineering and manufacturing.
